About Arvessa

Arvessa builds weekly irrigation plans for citrus farms in Souss-Massa, Morocco.

Argan hills in Souss-Massa

Why Arvessa exists

The drought in Morocco is real. Rain has been low for years, dams are low and wells keep going deeper.

Still, a lot of water is wasted. A study in Souss found citrus farms giving their trees almost twice the water they needed. Not because farmers don't care, but because nobody tells them how much each block really needs.

Arvessa does. One WhatsApp message a week with the hours for each block. Less water wasted, healthy trees.

My family is Moroccan, so this is home for me. That's why we start here, with citrus in Souss-Massa.

Arvessa is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and works with farms in Morocco.

Where we are

No farm uses Arvessa yet. This is what's done and what comes next.

  1. 2026Done

FAO engine and soil model built. Soil physics tested on measured data from an orange orchard in Souss. Circuit boards for the v3 probe drawn.

  2. Winter 2026-27Next

Bench tests of the probe: battery, and water and salt readings in dry, wet and salty soil. LoRa radio range tests under trees.

  3. 2027 seasonFree pilot

Three drip citrus farms in Souss, four blocks each, set up from February. The twin first only watches and forecasts, then advises once its forecasts hold.

  4. 2028 seasonPlanned

First paid season, with farms and packhouses.

What we're looking for

  • Pilot farms

Three drip-irrigated citrus farms in Souss-Massa for the 2027 season, each with four blocks we can compare. Free, and you keep full control.

  • Packhouse partners

Packhouses that want water records for their growers and can host reference farms.

  • A research partner

Agronomists in Agadir to check our numbers in the field and review how we test the twin.

  • Funding and programmes

Grants, prizes and incubators that back water and climate work in Morocco.
